I recently just got all my levels to what I would like them to be at in my 75. The fish are fine and I think I will be able to add coral soon. Since this is my first reef I have never had corals/anemones so I would like some suggestions on some that are the easiest to take care of.
What type of corals are the most hardy and low maintnance? What type of corals and anemones do you have to hand feed weekly and which corals dont need to be hand fed? Also is a pink tip anemone reef safe or will it over run my tank in time? And my biggest question is which corals need the most light and water circulation which would most likely be placed higher on the rocks and which kind may be put on the Bed or lower rock levels. |

I think your questions are not difficult to answer but it would help tremendously if you provided a bit more information about your tank. Like what equipment is in use(lighting, skimmer, pumps,etc.). I think the reason why you didn't get any replies to your thread is the lack of pertinent information.
Regarding the corals selection, though, it is a broad question and the best suggestion I can offer is to get a good book on corals, coral reefs and such. Just from the top of my head Eric Borneman's book Aquarium Corals is an exellent resource for anyone in the hobby. Having said that, generally speaking the soft corals require less intense lighting and water flow than the small polyped scleractinians, aka "sps". You can probably get away with T-5 or VHO lighting and couple of powerheads for keeping some soft corals, mushrooms and such. Quote:
Anemones that can take over the tank are Entacmaea quadricolor, also known as Bubble Tip Anemone(BTA) because they reproduce asexually by splitting in captivity. You can look in my gallery for an image of a 110g tank that was taken over by a rose BTA's. For general information about anemones see here As far as feeding corals, anemones.., they do need to be fed for long term health and survival. When you make more concrete selections we can perhaps give better advice on feedings. Good luck! BTW, the tank looks very good!

Are those just normal flourescent lights? If so, your coral choices are very limited, and there are no anemone choices.

Ok since i last posted i purchased an orbit 4 95 watt light that has been used for about six months. Now i was wondering To what corals i am limited to once again. And how much wattage is left in the lights that are 6 months old.
