As most of you know after I graduated college I sold my tank to my fraternity mostly because my parents didnt wanna take care of my tank while I was working in Michigan with MSU again this year....so I took that money and kept my ear to the ground and found a nice tank on ebay and I got it for a song. The tank is a 220g hexagon tank with stand and a few other little extras. I bought it fully aware of a little work that needs to be done on the tank...the tank accumulates a little condensation on the left corner if you look at the image im attaching you can see it on the left corner of the tank where the stain has dulled out. I'm not worried about it I'm just going to strip out the seals and reseal the perimeter of the tank and then restain the trim on the stand/tank. This is pretty much the perfect sized tank for me and by that I meen this is probably the biggest I can buy without gettin killed by my girlfriendThis was a custom tank and if you look close on the left side of the pic you can see a light blue box that was put in to cover up heaters, pumps and it looks like there used to be some way they filtered the water back there as well. I dont really have any experiences with them so I'm not really sure what is what back there. I dont see this tank being filled with water for at least 8months because I wanna buy a place that I'm gonna be livin in for at least 5-10yrs before I put this guy up because I am not going to want to tear it down. I have been slowly accumulating hardware for this project since I sold my stuff. I have 3 large mag drives (the number i cant think of right now i think they are 12's). I have a wavemaker, i have 2 large powersweeps. I have my 250w halide ballast, i have my 2X55w pc's still and I have my 2X55W vho's around still as well, and I have a scwd laying around as well. I plan on getting at least 2 more halide or hqi's because I want to do primarily sps tank with this tank. The tank has one or two very small scratches on the glass hardly even noticeable. The tank was only used for a year but the previous owner obviously didnt know not to scrape at the silicone seals and thats how this condensation came to be. Suggestions/comments are welcome I am pretty excited about having a tank again finally and a big tank to say the least. Its no 400 but when my biggest tank was a 65g ......220 is a big guy. Tell me what ya think.
