Well, IMAC 2007 (The International Marine Aquarium Conference) is not too far away, June 1, 2 and 3, at the Crowne Plaza O’Hare in Chicago. We already have quite a list of speakers lined up: Martin Moe, Scott Michael, Dr. Ron Shimek, Eric Borneman, Anthony Calfo, Robert “Bob” Fenner, Dr. Markus Huettel, Kelly Jedlicki, Frank Burr and Mark Schick with more to come.

We also have a bigger Exhibit Hall with about 70 booths. The speaker rooms are right next to the Exhibit Hall so everything is on one level. The Crowne Plaza offers a special rate to IMAC attendees of just $113/nite, which makes IMAC the least expensive weekend conference you can attend. There will be a great raffle, and there is a special raffle open only to IMAC registrants. We will announce the big prize a little later but we guarantee it will be a big-ticket item. You get FREE raffle tickets, depending on when you register. If you register during August or earlier you will get 35 tickets, if you wait until next May to register you only get 1. Yes marinelife, we do have banners. I just sent you an email about how to get them but in case anyone else is interested, just go to the IMAC site and click on the picture in the lower left marked "About IMAC" and scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will find several of them.

Hi Dennis,
The IMAC show is always an awesome event! I have enjoyed it very much the last 2 years. John and I will be there this year for sure in the exhibitor booth for uberfrags. We plan on bringing our A-Game! Lots of frags, sponsors, and free Ubergear! Having until June will give us a great lead time into the event to be a real show stopper!
I am also glad I found this site! I have it in my favorites! I will be posting here as often as possible. I believe communities should be shared. Members, links, info the whole nine yards so that the hobby is DRIVEN forward!!!

We just had a fantastic IMAC this year and broke all records for the number of attendees and exhibitors. If you have never attended a major reef aquarist’s conference let me give you some idea of what to expect. There are 3 days of lectures by some of the world’s best-known experts and authors in the hobby. You can ask them questions after their presentations or get together with them later in the bar or any time you run into them in the hotel. We already have experts like

And there is the Big Raffle with prizes donated by the exhibitors. But, for many people, the best part is getting together with other hobbyists and all the partying that is going on..

The next International Marine Aquarium Conference will be on June 1, 2 and 3, 2007 in Chicago at the Crowne Plaza O’Hare. We now have an Early Bird registration for just $125 that covers everything, including the Gala Banquet on Saturday night and the Speakers’ Reception on Friday night where you can mingle with the speakers and other attendees.

And IMAC will have insulated bags available for you to take your frags home in. Since airlines have become more restrictive on carrying on liquids, you can pack these bags in your luggage.
