ID this Acropora sp.
I bought this at a frag swap yesterday. I'm not a great photographer, so...
The guy gave me the name, but... He called it Palm Coral. It looks like a palm tree, Very thin branches. ![]() |

It doesn't seem like the pic is coming through.

Fixed your link for you, Fishie...
As far as ID for this coral, it is hard to make definitive ID for the Acroporas from pictures alone, even with the best pictures. Maybe Kevinpo will look on to this thread and make an ID for you. ![]()

Thanks z
Could it be A longicyathus? I'm trying to take better closeups, but I probably need a better camera. Sorry.

doesn't really look like the pics from CoralSearch Search Page. I know these pics are of huge wild colonies but I would think that they're would be some dinstinct similarities. I think it looks pretty cool regardless, the branching def. resembles a palm tree.

For instance, the common name "palm coral" is often used for Clavularia species: ![]() ![]()

Hi,
I'm no help. There's likely 20 Acropora species that look like your coral that I can think of off hand. Also the picture is too out of focus to even narrow it down much. Sorry, Kevin
