Strange creature releasing gametes???

Well not really sure if they're gametes. Hope it's nothing else. It's been going on for about 5 mins and is still going on as I type. It has actually clouded the tank. Here's some pics. I have more.

OH, I just finished a water change. For what ever that might be worth and please no laughing at my majano. Anyone want a frag of it?

OK, I'll play this game. Is it a snail? I can't seem to see the "strange creature" you are referring to, just the plume of "smoke."

LOL A few people said it might be a peanut worm but I believe the consensus is it's near impossible to really tell exactly what it is with out seeing the whole creature. The pics are of a tube that is about 2" long extending out of a piece of rock. I've had the rock for 2 years but have never seen a peanut worm, so who knows.
It went on for almost 10 mins and was very entertaining. After the 10 min were up the tube retracted back and has never been seen again.
This hobby is truely amazing.

Sorry I don't know about the "smoke"... but what are those cool little hitchhikers on your rock? I've seen them many times before, but I still don't know what they are. They almost look like little tiny bubble tip anemones...

They're probably Anemonia majano, which is a pest anemone that can be eliminated by injecting it with strong Kalkwasser, hydrochloric acid, etc. They grow fast and sting everything they touch. Almost as bad as Aiptasia exept that they don't spread quite as fast.

Yep evil Majano. They've gone to a better place. I hit them with Joe's Juice.

I think you're seeing the siphon of a clam that is living within the rock.

I think you're right. That's exactly what it looks like now that you mention it and it would also explain the duration.

Hmmm, then what would be the cloud of "smoke" it was releasing. Although I could still see thru the tank it did cloud it some. It looked as if I had a serious micro bubble problem.
