Finally... (tank up date)

So, after being poisoned with pesticide, then the tank leaking and losing my sand bed followed by a toxic dinoflagellate bloom, my tank is finally healthy again!! I lost a lot, but a lot survived too.

This is why I say the only miracle in this hobby is love. It took soooo much work and patience and tears to get through all this. Nothing less than love could have kept me from just giving up. You guys have been so cool too though! It's always nice to be able to cry to people who understand your pain.

I still have some minor algae issues, but I'm not worried about it. I've never been too obsessed with having a completely algae free tank anyway.

Oh, and here are the two cuties Rod and Dennis gave me because they felt sorry for me after all my fish died. They're my babies now. I just love them to death. Now if only I could get them to bond with the bubbletip I just got...

Thanks. Can you believe I still don't have names for them yet? So I'm open to suggestions!

Hey Sara!!! I was just starting to wonder where you went...

The tank looks GREAT! I would add something for a background though. I don't have any suggestions for the clowns, but they sure are cute little guys...

Wow! Tank looks great, clowns are CUTE. Do you name your fish people names (Fred and Alice, etc) or goofy things like I name mine (Peppermint Patty, the peppermint shrimp, etc). Thinking of famous clowns -- Pagliaci and who???

Glad to see that everything has bounced back SO nicely from all the drama.

Sara -

Good to see you up and running - I like what you've done with the aquascaping!

On naming after famous clowns... How about Pagliaci and George Jr.?

Hey Sara,

I'm glad you are back and your new tank is just gorgeous. If you remember, I too lost all of my fish about a year or two ago, not an easy thing to get over but I;m glad you bounced back and you have two very cute clowns there.
I don't name my fish so I can;t help you there.

I don't use a background because there's a window behind the tank. I only pulled down the shade so I could take a better picture. But usually shade is up and the "background" of the tank is the view from the window (which is quite nice). I've posted some pics of the tank with the window background in another thread (I'll see if I can find it). It looks pretty cool if I don't say so myself.

Is there a lot of sun that comes in the window? Any problems with heat from it?

I get sun, but apparently not enough to cause a heating problem. But I also have a pretty big fan mounted on the wall that blows over the tank. And the air conditioner is just a few feet away too. So keeping the tank cool is never too difficult in any case.
