coral acclimation ?
ok, it arrived, no DOA's as usual, but i am not sure where i should place the polyps i just got, should i start them off, as close to the bottom as possible? How long does it take for the polyps to open up? after i have matched water quality in the bag, with the tank water, and place it in the tank, do i start acclimating it to lighting conditions? or do i leave lights off for today? If i start light acclimation today, how long does it take? and how is it done, do you turn the lights on in the room, then the an NO over the tank, then the actnics, etc...?
thanks mark |

Mark, I would say that it depends on what kind of corals you are referring to. Some are more senitive than others. With almost all corals I start them on the substrate then slowly raise them to where I would like to see them. Also it depends on your lighting. VHO, MH , etc.
