This ban they are trying to pass is basicaly as some people above already stated. It is mostly for monkeys, venomous snakes and things of that sort. When i first herd it i called and was told that fish and other pets that weren"t reasonabley harmful were going to be fine.Things such as crockodiles gators and such will be ban,They caught one around here(WNY) a few weeks ago in a little creek.(Camen crock that is.Some idiot didnt want it or couldnt provide for it so he let it go in the local creek.I just hope they dont get carrieded away with it.The person i talked to was Pat Magee for NYS.If you do want an exotic you will have to get a permit for a zoo or something like that.

I dropped my senator a heart felt email a month ago, and he got back to me, He said, that the bill is still on committee level, and it shouldnt reach senator level for a while, it is supposed to undergo several changes to make it more friendly...

hopefully, it will still be possible to own the animals, just that much more difficult. I do know that they are getting bombarded by mails, because every petstore around here has brochures on how to fight this bill... I would never want to find this bill, because with my luck, as soon as it was "shot down" I would be approached by a hungry bear that the neighbors let go....

I think this bill should actually help us more than hurt us...

Why should responsible owners be punished by not being able to keep the animals they love? So as long as YOUR pets are not on the list you don't care if someone else loses their pets huh?

No ,i did"nt mean that at all.One of my friends has an iguanna and he is very responsible as i assume you are also. And another friend of mine has aaa bird of some sort, i want to say maybe a cockatoo. It looks like the bird that was on an old cop show called Baretta.I love animals, all animals for that manner, i definitely know that there are alot of very responsible people who take great care of their animals and most are considered part of their family which i think is excellent. But as the story unfortunately goes as with everything else, it only takes a few irresponsible loosers to screw things up for everyone elsesuch as us.
