Coral Lighting?

I know some corals such as the Mushroom Coral and Coral Polyps require very little light to thrive – however, I was wondering how Acropora Coral, Brain coral, Bubble Coral, Elegance Coral, Cup Coral, Torch Coral, Trumpet Coral do in similar lighting situations... I realize that this list often requires higher lighting... What kind of coral combinations have you guys successfully done - in say a 60 gal tank? Thanks in advance!

Most of the commonly available Acropora species require high lighting, flow , and water quality to be colorful. LPS corals do well under HO T-5's, VHO's, or PC's.

One way to keep both is to use 2 different lights. Most LPS have sweeper tentacles so you should place them on one side of the tank and the SPS on the other side. You can use the 75w HQI pendant for the SPS and a T5 for the other side.
Just an idea.
I recommend that you try one coral or the other. Sps are low nutrient high flow creatures while LPS tolerate the opposite. The best thing to do is plumb another tank on for the LPS. It's alot more money but worth it in the end. Also the ACRO's don't like soft corals either. My tank is a softie/LPS setup with some montis. Montis seem to be more forgiving.
Think about it.
