My first reef tank
I have had several fowler tanks and have picked up a 38 gal, drilled tank with a 29 gal sump to make my first reef tank. The sump is behind the display and is set up with plumbing and 1 baffle just off center and 2 mj 1200's for return mounted in the display. it has a 110 watt compact fixture that I need to get bulbs for. Just looking for tips and ideas of easy to care for corals and reef friendly fish, I am thinking about a clown, a royal gramma and maybe a flame angel. I also need to know about suppliments etc. My fowlers have done incredible but as I mentioned this is my first reef.

Get a pair of clowns and the Royal Gramma. Those will be nice fish for this tank. The Flame Angel is a delicate fish, so if you do attempt one make sure it is way down the road to ensure the tank is really mature.
Most soft corals will do fine under that lighting and are fairly easy to care for. Leather corals, mushrooms, zoathids will all work great. You could even go with some LPS corals once you were comfortable, granted you had the room. |

I wouldn't try to keep an anemone under any lighting other than Metal Halide, personally. People have been successful with lower output lighting but I would do it. You could definitely put an anemone in the tank though, with proper lighting, care and selection.

Anemones are dificult animal to keep. The least difficult of the clownfish hosting anemones is the Bubble tip anemone (E. quadricolor). They will do OK with your light but really need stable tank to do well. Clarkii and Maroon clowns are the two species of clown that commonly available and will natually host by BTA.
Clowfish will do just fine without anemone in our tank.
