How to attach ricordea?
I had recently purchased an unattached Orange Ric polyp and am having difficulty getting it to attach. I have never had issues with mushrooms as I have had with this one. It won't lie flat for it's foot to attach to something. It kind of curls up so the foot doesn't touch anything. I have given it two weeks and and it just lies in there in this curled up position. I have it in a shallow cup with some small coral rubble. Should I put sand in there and allow it to lie completely flat on the sand's surface? any ideas? I don't want to lose this polyp to lack of understanding procedure. It is still very much alive. It gets nice and 'puffed' up under the lights....just won't open flat. Now that I think bout it, without being able to see in there, it's like it has attached to itself. Would it hurt to try to forceably open it? Like I said I don't know what to do next.
Thanks Rich |

Rich, I wouldn't worry about the polyp. If you have it in a place where it is not moving, and it expands during the daytime, leave it be. It sounds happy to me.
