Brine shrimps... or what

I have these critters appearing en-masse in my "fuge" - presumably because when and if they spawn in tank, the fishies eat 'em.

They look like some kind of brine shrimp but are just to small and fast to catch with my camera. Maybe with the big flash and the hole closed down... but really, a photo ID parade will do if anyone knows of one.

If it helps, they appear to have two "legs" at the rear end that propel them along over the rocks.

Great idea, but it didn't work... darn English words for pods means everything from poppy seed pods to vanilla pods to anything but copeopod. Darn.

I'll just have to snap one.

They are very likely to be mysid shrimp. Most reef tanks will have these. They will be out in the main tank during the day if they are not hunted too much by the fish. They are found in most bodies of water from fresh, to brine, to salt.

Kevin

This is the only closeup I could find:

and it doesn't look much like that. I'm really not complaining, just curious.
