will switching to store bought distilled water help get rid of green hair , and red slime algae in my 30gal or will it make it worse?

It depends. If your current source water (See: WATER - Source and NSW) is or might be contaminated with nitrates, proteins, and/or phosphates, then the switch to source water that doesn't contain these would be of benefit at reducing nuisance, unwanted microlife.
