It does not look like it is in the best of health, but often Carpet look like that when first put in a tank until it adapted. These carpets or sand dweller and would not be comfortable unless it is on the sand bed.
By this picture can anyone tell if this carpet appears to be healthy? I am running a 48" coralife with 2 150 watt MH and 10k of actinic, Should be enough light from what I have read.![]()
I have read a lot of information on these fellers and I have confirmed the following
It is still sticky/Stomach stays tight as you can see in the picture/ It opens up immediately when the lights come on and sometimes the the two sebae's in the pic keep him open at night/ No melting present/Attached to the same rock and the same place that I put him in the tank where he has plenty of light. All good signs![]()
The reason I am worried is that I just moved this anenome two days ago from another tank so that I could have it in my display tank in my living room and I am brand new to keeping anenomes. It came open right after the acclimation and again I am assuming this is another good sign. The bad point though is that when I try to feed him he does the normal thing of flipping his sides inward to trap the food but the sebaes keep stealing his food and I assuming that since they are brand new to the tank and were probably somewhere in the Indo s pacific a couple of weeks ago that they are pretty hungry and maybe this will stop at some point? Is it normal for a anemone to push his stomach outward when you feed them?
Now the two sebae clowns took right to the anemone as well after I put him in the tank. Will Clown's host an anenome that is sick or dying? Thats another good question I haven't been able to find the answer to. Any advice would be much appreciated and I guess after all I had a few questions

Minh,
This is the same grn crpt I had in my predator tank that you suggested to move so I moved it to my reef tank. How should it look when its healthy? Last night it expelled waste and became the size of a 50 cent piece and then today its bigger than it is in this picture. Its still attached to the same piece of rock that it was attached to from the other tank and it has not moved. I am assuming if it wanted to be in the sand it would move there correct?![]()
It usually found on sand unless it is too small. Small S. haddoni can be found on rock. How big is it fully expanded? What kind of light is it under?
It needs bright light and clean water. Consider put the rock on the sand and turn it so that the anemone touch the sand.

It is under 300 watts of MH and 10k acintic blue, Its about 12 inches in diameter when full open, Foot is about the size of your fist.
As long as he is doing OK and get better everyday, I would leave him along. I guess he does not read aquarium or text book on anemones. If he is not getting better than I would move him (the rock that is, not remove hime from the rock) to the sand. You can see picture of healthy S. haddoni on this thread at reefcentral.com. There are some stunning carpets show there.
