Welcome to Reefland, first off.

You have asked a very general question. You are going to want to figure out what type of corals you want to keep, to even start with IMO. How big is your system, how much Live Rock do you want, these are questions that should be looked into before you start worrying about your fish population.
Why don't you try our search function, and get more familiar with what type of system you want, then using that, come back with question specific to that. This will help us help you more!!
Good luck, let us know what you come up with.

read33, I have moved your post here to the Reef Aquariums forum, where I think it will be better answered.

Hi Read33,
I'm new to the website, but not the hobby. My past experience with compatible reef fish has been... sometimes the fish decide if they will get along and advice like mine gets laughed at by fish everywhere! lol
anyway.... yellow tangs,regals,1,maybe 2 damsels, etc. mainly mild tempered species will usually work out any problems between themselves. you'll want to stay away from triggers and puffers (or anything will visible teeth). good job doing your homework first! oh, in my 90gal reef, I have a beautiful copper-band Butterflyfish. Not all butterflies are reef safe though so,beware. I won't keep rambling on about it, but good luck to you and your husband, though I must warn you...saving the reef can be quite addictive. Have fun!
