I have a 33gal. reef tank with one Clarkii. No other fish are in the tank. What other Clownfish can be kept with the Clarkii? Would another Clarkii be ok? Would two / three clown fish compete for a host anenome?
Thanks! |

You could add another A. clarkii but I wouldn't add any other species of clownfish in such a small tank. Besides, most of the communication between clownfish is intraspecific and can only be observed if the clownfish are of the same species.

Another clarki would be okay as long as it is significantly smaller than the one you have now. If not then expect some fighting. I would say no other clown speicies since clowns are very territorial towards others of different speices. You could even say have two more clowns in there making a total of three but the two new ones would have to be smaller than the one in there now. This would create a small herem for you. I would say just add the one clownfish though and maybe later downt he line add a firefish or maybe a goby. HTH
