    Bubble tip anemone

My bubble tip anemone is acting very strange this evening, having had them perviously, I realize for the first month or so they can move about to find their perfect spot in the tank, however mine today & yesterday has not stopped moving, hes now even squished himself inbetween my live rock, and looks absolutely horrible. Anyone have any ideas on whats going on & how to get him in a good spot thats both attractive & functional for the anemone?

I would probably suggest some more lighting Anemones need a lot of light since I bought a T-5 set up for my Tank mine have gone berserk, on my 3 ft Tank I run a T-5 which consists of 4 x 14000 k 39 watt H/O fluros and 2 x 14000 k coral blue T-8,s I am currently waiting for some T-5 fluros in Blue as the 2 coral blue t-8,s have buggar all effect and the tank is very bright

    Unhappy

It is now stuck to my back wall of my aquarium, sitting in front of my inlet to my sump. Doesn't look very healthy, what do I do?

Read this article on the care of host sea anemones for useful tips on their proper husbandry.

What are you feeding your anemone and how frequently are you feeding it? Entacmaea quadricolor should be fed two to three times a week for best health.

It is common for this species to wander in the tank looking for a better "home." If water parameters are normal (especially normal salinity of ~35 PSU) and it receives adequate light and regular feedings, it will usually find a spot it likes and stay put. This is especially true if there are clownfish that it is hosting.

You should raise your specific gravity to 1.025. You can do this gradually by simply replacing evaporation with freshly made-up saltwater instead of freshwater until your SG rises to 1.025.

Not much to add to what Ninong had said already...
It is "normal" for newly added anemone to wander a bit and it should settle in and attach within 48 hours or so. If not attached, the animal may refuse to accept food.
In my experience with this particular anemones is that food play probably more important role than lighting (not that light is of no importance) in the first few month of it's life in aquarium.

Can that inlet be moved or is it something permanent in the tank?
If there is no danger to the anemone( like being sucked in into a pipe or something) I would leave it alone for a while and see if it would accept some food where it is. It may move again once it is acclimates to the chemistry of the water in your aquarium and attach itself some place else. I have a tank full of bta's and some of them are attached to back glass and some to the rocks, some are attached to overflows and almost everything else in that tank. As a species, this particular anemones prefer to hide their foot somewhere( like back glass or some rockwork) and have only their oral disks exposed to light and flow so they can capture food that is floating by.
Read more in the article that Ninong linked for you, it;s all there. ;)
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

Its permanently attached to the tank. I have had him in there about three weeks, the first 2 he didn't move, last week, I added a sailfin tasng so I reorganized my live rock to save from my yellow being territorial, shortly after this is when he started to move about at first seemed normal, now he does not stretch to his full size anymore, he is eating fine. I have been curing more live rock, to add more to my tank, I have been wondering if this may help to add or it it would be more of a hindrance?

OK, rearrangement of rockwork probably had something to do with your anemone getting up and leaving, so to speak. Usually such reorganisations change flow patterns in aquarium and it may have prompted the move.
If everything else is OK in the tank the anemone should return to normal after proverbial dust is settled. If it is eating/accepting food I don't see anything to overly worry about.

As far as adding more live rock, I don't see any prblems as long as it is fully cured.
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

Excellent yes it is fully cured. Kept it in my rubbermaid tub extra 2 weeks to assure it after ammonia levels had dropped off to 0

He is eating, but hacinig trouvble doing so, as he is directly in front of the overflow inlet his tentacles on that side tend to get sucked through the slits when hes trying to eat, so I assisted him and placed it directly in the center and he ate it fine, but is it wise to somehow detach him & try to place himback near the live rock? & if so, how do I do this to cause the least stress & not harm him?
