had him for about 3 weeks now, he has setteld in nicely, no visable aggression from him or other tank mates and is eating well and confidently.

PICS!!!!!!!!

Well here is one of my clowns and nem just took it since i have re-aquascaped it is no longer in the back of my tank but in full view!

That about did it. So by closed loop you mean that it simply sucks water from one spot and it pumped to another?

yeah it removes the need for powerheads, but as you can see i still have them because i currently live with my dad and he wasnt keen on the idea of another two 50W pumps consuming electricty 24/7 so i blocked the holes up and just added 4 maxijet 900s.
When i move out i will be setting up the closed loops it will look v cool then.

cheers james

That is what i figured. Do they really drawl that much power? Maybe a few bucks more but oh well. I like the idea of having a sump/refiguim without the over flow box much cleaner look.

Re: My 60gal system build.

OK guys and galls, havnt updated for a while there has been a few changes to the tank, i have sold my clam as it wasnt happy with my high flow in the tank and i couldnt find a place for it where it was happy.
one of my shrimp has died i put that down to my tank getting to 31C the other day, nothing else seems to be too bothered by the temp spike.
have re-aquascaped again, like it a lot now, my shroom has mulitiplied twice now, yey!
And my tank it seems has finally gone through all the algae cycles and what not and now seems stable, eveything is growing!

and now for the part you have all been wateing for the PICS!!!

view from the front

view from the side

the view from the fish room door

hope you like, james

Re: My 60gal system build.

thanks guys, im so happy with it now, i lost intrest for a while when it was looking its worst, but it has bounced back and now im hooked again.
i think i am going to get rid of my hard corals and anemone, when i go to uni and ask my dad to look after it while im gone, it would be such a shame to take it all down and loose all the hard work and time that i put in to it.

cheers james
