Question Suggestions for care...

I have added a yellow poylp colony to my tank and would like suggestion on general tips on how to care for them.

I have a 40g display, 10g sump, 10g quarantine separate water system, 260watts PC lighting, 2 50/50 12hrs, 2 50/50 actinic blue 3 hrs morning and evening, coralife super skimmer, homemade auto top off system with 32g reservoir RO water, homemade doser systems, one dripping kalk, and one dripping calcium and esseintal elements, and 35lbs live rock. My other tank inhabitants are in my log here on reefland.

Tested water today:

Cal 420ppm
KH 8dKH
Amm 0

I would say give them a little lite and a little bit of flow. You don't want it so that you blow the skin off of them, just enough to keep them tossing around a little.

Thanks Charlie,
I have them at the middle level of the tank and medium water flow, I did look that up.
I'm feeding the tank Kent Microvert, feed the peppermint shrimp, and sun coral puree' of shrimp and scallop that I made every 2 days. Will the yellow get enough from the Kent essential elements and microvert?

It should get enough. They are so easy to keep and before long you will have a lot of them. At least every time I have kept them I also have lots to give away within a few months.

That seems to be the one thing about just about any type of polyps, they seem to survive no matter what.
I would watch the additions of the elements tho, how often are you doing that. That type of food should only be added sparingly IMO, it is very nutrient rich, and unless you are skimming real well, it will be real hard on the system.

Stopped combo doser last night. Dripped the kalk at one drop per second last night. (kalk mixture is 1 teaspoon in a gallon of fresh water) I only feed once a day every 2 days. Meat every night to the sun coral.

Sounds like you got a plan, just keep an eyeball on things, OK. Good luck, do you have any pics of your setup?
