Fox corals can have sponges that bore into the skeleton. They also prefer low flow and moderate light. What type of light do you have it under and how far is it from the bulbs?

Regards,
Kevin

Are the bulbs standard output or are they VHO? What size tank and what is the distance from the coral to the bulb. It sounds like you may not have enough light intensity for this coral.

Regards,
Kevin

It requires HO t-5's, VHO's, PC's, or metal halide lighting for long term sucess.

Regards,
Kevin
PS: The above applies to most LPS (large polyp stony corals).
