Dried Reef Rock
I recently came into some dried Reef Rock (it has been out of the water for about 5 years). I have excelent lighting in my tank and am curious is if anyone can tell me if I am going to get any growth on the rocks at all.
Growth meaning pollips that might have been on there before. Thanks |

If it needs to be placed with other live rock in order to "re-grow" plant life.
I will have to assume that by putting Carib dried rock with Fiji live rock any plant growth gained on the Carib rock will be that of the Fiji growth type... can someone that knows please elaborate? |

I think that anything that was alive on the rock before is dead by now. However, it may be valuable rock. If it is very porous it will quickly host lots of beneficial bacteria for filtering your water. Some life may jump from your existing rock to this new rock.
