I know that the recommended procedure for QT is one organism per QT tank, but is that a hard steadfast rule or is it slightly flexible?

For example, if I was to order 5 zoanthid frags from the same dealer, same water system, is there any reason why these 5 Zoos could not be in the same QT? I would say it's very likely they would all have the same parasites(ie. nudibranchs), if any, and would all require the same treatment during QT anyway.

It's just not feasible to set-up 5 or more 5 gallon aquariums with 5 pumps and sponge filters and 5 lights. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I think it's reasonable that if the five came from the same system that they can go through quarantine together. Making sure there is enough water/space for the additional number and the ability of the QT to handle them, they could go through quarantine together.

The usual problem is trusting the source. If the marine life didn't come from the same system, then that is a different matter. It's trusting the source that sometimes leads to problems.
