dont let it go out of the light, itl die, growing and shrinking is natural, but dont let it move behind the rocks.
You should probably think about teathering it like a dog. |

No need to worry if it moved behind the rocks as it will move back when it is ready. What I am trying to say is that in nature this particular species prefer to hide their foot in/behind/between rocks and have only its oral disk in the open where it can actively try and catch any food items that flowing in the current. That may be small fish or zooplankton, or shrimp...
Have you try feeding it and did it accept your offerings? What type of set up do you have?

ive had anemones and heard of other people with anemones that move into the dark and die. there just to slow, or if they get stuck, theyl die after a week. I would at least keep an eye on it.

Here's a picture of my tank, and I hope you can see that some of the anemones are behind other anemones and hardly get any light, so they move. First behind the rocks and then they literally on top of one another. ![]() I would be more concern if the animal refused to accept food and wouldn't attach to substrate(any substrate).

As far as how many, friend of mine counted about 50 the other day as he was removing a few but I'm sure he missed few here and there. Some of which were probably behind the rocks. It doesn't look it but there is nearly 300lb of rock in there. ![]()
