a trio of lyretail anthias (p. squamipinnis)? A small school (3 to 5) of chromis?
How do you feel about gobies? A watchman goby/shrimp pair might be nice. How about pseudochromis/dottybacks? The splendid pseudochromis is gorgeous and should coexist with your existing fish. most of the other things I can think of would jump (fairy wrasses, jawfish, etc) Good luck! Rebecca |

The 6 line will definitly jump. Unfortunatly, because they are a great add to any aquarium. Becky has got you covered tho, a few small anthias would be dynamite. Get all females and one will probably turn into a male for you. That is always fun to watch.

You might also consider a Royal Gramma or Blackcap Basslet, a couple of our favorites.

Re: what fish?
re: the dottybacks -- some can be aggessive, but probably not more agressive than your clowns... it's an individual personality thing unfortunately, some are more boisterous than others!
I think you can do the anthias... but will defer to people like Charlie, Gene, Kevin who have kept bigger tanks and more anthias. Instead of a trio, you could also consider a sunburst/flathead anthia (Serranocirrhitus latus)-- they are more solitary and can be successfully kept as singles. Here's a pretty good link if you are not familiar w this fish... [url="http://www.wetwebmedia.com/serranocirrhitus.htm"] One thing I will say if you do like this particular anthia is that I would wait until your tank is 6+ months old (your 60G is a new(ish) upgrade, right?). Re: what fish?
I am gonna bow out on this one too, I forgot that your tank was that size. It may be doable tho if there aren't that many more inhabitants.

Re: what fish?
ok thanks, well i wont go for the anthias, if there is a maybe about it.
i would feel better about not keeping them in my small tank than cramming them in ![]() Rebecca: as for my clowns being aggressive, not a chance they are tottaly the oppiset, my six line and coral beauty are the boss of them. chain of command in my tank is: coral beauty six line clowns (bless um) so unless you consider coral beautys and six lines more aggressive than dottybacks im affraid i cant get one, but i do like that fish and was on my list as fish that i would like some day P.S if you do consider coral beautys and six lines more aggressive than dottybacks, would adding a royal gramma and a dottyback be ok in my tank? cheers james

Re: what fish?
According to Scott Michael, the minimum size tank for most of the anthias he has listed is 55 gal. If you have other aggressive ones in there, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea.

Re: what fish?
I would do the sunburst/flathead maybe, not the lyretail trio for anthias. I tried a trio of lyretail anthias in my 55, which is low-stocked and pretty well skimmed (it was before I added the xtra water movement from the sea swirl though.... and they didn't make it). How much water movement do you have?
I think the dottyback/royal gramma would probably be equal to the coral beauty in terms of aggression. I personally like the black cap basslet the best out of Scott's recommendations, and think it's probably the "nicest" of that group. Getting down to the last fish to add is a PAIN isn't it? ![]() |
