Thank You!

I just want to thank everyone who let me use their photos for this project. The project is to have care sheets for all the different major kinds of corals that are *free* for LFSs and clubs to print and hand out with any purchased coral.

Please ignore the rest of the site which is still under construction. And please understand that the care sheets are still being revised by more accomplished/seasoned aquarists. They've already been through about 4 or 5 revisions, but the process goes on...

Anyway, here's the site where they can be viewed or printed:
www.asira.org - Coral Care

Thanks again everyone!!
Sara

P.S. I still need a pic for chalice coral and blue ridge if anyone has those.

Re: Thank You!

Congrats Sara, wonderful job so far.
As far as that Echinopora sp. coral, I thought I had a pic of it in my gallery before( I;ll go look )

Correction: It appears that I had deleted all of the older images from my gallery so it is gone.

Re: Thank You!

Thank you for the compliments! I should also mention those who have helped me... Rod Buehler and Bill Hoffman (from the Smithsonian) are two. I'll have a more complete list of acknowledgments and references pretty soon.

Re: Thank You!

Sara, I found this old picture taken with a p&s cam in 03, when I still had that LE piece from Steve Tyree. I think he called it blue chalice or someting to that extent. Anyway, here it is, not the best quality pic but hopefully it can help you.

Sara, if I remember correctly, genus Echinopora belongs to Faviidae family.
You may be thinking of Echinophyllia, Oxypora, Mycedium or the likes? Those I believe belongs to Pectiniidae.
Anyways, if you need Echinophyllia I have few images of mine that I grew from a half inch piece.

Yes, of course... I must be flaking out today. I am thinking of echinophyllia, oxypora, etc. And I'd love to see pictures of yours!

Re: Thank You!

Here you go Sara. This piece I got from a local store and it was maybe a size of the quarter. It is extremely agressive and puts out long sweepers at night.

Re: Thank You!

Very nice! and long overdue as I am sure such a thing will be of great use to the average hobbyists. Thanks!! oh, and as a heads up, I will soon have an underwater housing for my camera, and with having daily access to a few hundred species on the reef here....well, you get my drift...lol

Your site is now listed within my coral page as well... Thanks!

Chuck
