Bubble Tip Dying?
I have a Bubble tip anenome along with a marroon clownfish. I have had them both together for some time now at least 6 months. They have both been doing fine together and i feed it shrimp about 3 times a week. I recently went and purchased another bubble tip for my tank. the new one looked fine for a day and then they next day i woke up and it was lying on its mouth so i flipped it over and it was disintegrating. i took it out because i believed it to be dead. I went ahead and did water changes after this happend and everything seemed to be going fine. Now i look at my orginal bubble tip and it is starting to look like it might be disintegrating but im not sure. it doesnt look quite as bad as the other one did and it is still atached to a rock. Is it splitting? Please help me find out whats going on.
Thanks, Chris |

Re: Bubblet Tip Anemone Problems
WELCOME TO REEFLAND!
Sorry to hear of the problems with the Anemone. This was posted in a Fish Health Forum and I moved it to the Reef Aquariums Forum where you may get more attention and help. More information about your tank is needed, like Vaporize indicated. Please post the lighting you are using; how you are feeding the Anemone; water conditions; and any other system information (equipment used, etc.) that will help us get a mental idea of what might be happening.

Re: Bubblet Tip Anemone Problems
Hi Chris,
![]() I agree with other posters that little more information about your system is required. Having said that, in general, adding another anemone even of the same species may be problematic. It largly depends on the size of the tank, and even than it can pose problems with the animals fighting and competing chemically. As far as splitting goes, yes the animal may look terrible while going through fission. It may take a day, two or three... I had witnessed this many times in my tank and most of the time it lasts for a couple of days, and then the abvious recovery time of the clones. Hope yours is just splitting and will bounce back.
