Using sugar size sand for dsb

Hello everyone!! Well my newbie question goes as thus: I just got enough sugar fine sand to do 1 inch in my 75 gallon display tank and enough sand to do 4 inches in my 40 gallon sump.Out of the 40 gallon glass sump,30 gallons will be dedicated to a dsb. Does this seem like a workable system? As for live rock I will start out with 75 lbs.Oh ya,I have R/O and a protien Skimmer.

Also is sugar fine sand OK for a DSB or should I mix it with a larger size?

If it is not live sand, seed it with TRUE live sand you will be much happier.
