Re: Supermarket di water
The markets usually sell RO water not DI but if yours does it will be just fine. RO and distilled will both work also.

Re: Supermarket di water
It's not D.I. water. It's R.O. water. It sells for 25 cents a gallon at Wal-Mart Supercenters down here in Louisiana if you bring your own container. It's dispensed from a machine in the front of the store. There are no D.I. filters, just an R.O. membrane. It passes through a UV sterilizer as a final step when it is being dispensed.
It is also available at higher cost in gallon containers on a rack next to the machine but it's much cheaper if you bring your own containers. It will be called drinking water on the machine.

Re: Supermarket di water
I would just say test it with yor TDS meter. If you do not have one you may want to get one, this will help you with the upkeep of one of your most important part of your tank the RO/DI unit.
If you are in a pinch I cannot say what is safe. I can only say prepare if this happens again. |

Re: Supermarket di water
ive been buying distilled water from wallmart for 64 cents a gallon for a while now, and my tank is doing really well. They usually sell it in a clear gallon container with a purple cap.
