    brown unknown...

    i know i should be able to find this... but i cannot...any help with ID?

    Hydroids. They're a pain in the butt. They can sting corals and some of them spread very quickly under good conditions. I've been unable to find any method of getting rid of them.

    Well, I don't know much about hydroids, but I do think that a NaOH/kalk mix kills just about anything... except my zoanthids apparently.

    Just an idea-What if you tossed the rock into QT and added a really big Emerald crab?

    Kalk + NaOH + H2O killed my hydroids first try.

    removing the rock and lightly scrubbing it with a toothbrush got rid of them...
