Porifera ID site?
Anyone have a really good website for IDing sponges? I've got a beautiful pink encrusting sponge (see link below) that I'd like to learn more about, but sponges don't rank high on the taxonomic ladder (literally).

For most of them there's no way to even make a reasonable guess on the ID unless you look at the spicules and use a key of local sponges. There aren't a whole lot of keys and without knowing more than a broad geographic area that it might have come from it's unlikely that you'll find one. I would just call it a demosponge and be content that that's probably the best you'll probably be able to ID it.
