I plan on getting a neptune II controller in hopes that it will help in controlling my calcium reactor. How exactly does this control it?
And w/ a controller do you have to still take manual calcium readings or is there a way for the controller to? Is it really benificial to even use the controller w/ the reactor? Thanks,Tom |

I had the controller before I had my reactor, so it was nice to have. However, I do not use the controller to shut the solenoid valve off. The only reason I have the solenoid valve is if the power goes out, it shuts off the CO2 tank. The controller will not take CA reading, you still have to do it the same way. You can have the controller shut the solenoid valve off if the pH gets too low. You could have a setting such as.... If ph < 7.7 then sol OFF and If ph > 7.9 then sol ON...something like that. HTH

Myreef,
Thanks that makes sense! I'll set it up to controller for power outages, to be SAFE! Good idea! Tom |
