Question Anemone help

Hello,
I am new here. My name is sashi. I live in Tokyo.

I have a 160L tank with a variety of fishes..dams, clown, tang, angel, goby..
I always wanted to have an anemone. bought a green bubble tip anemone..from day 1 it was almost closed..i thought it will open up slowly and it did after 4~5 days. but opened up too much that it was no more green in color .it was almost off-white.. it then died after another 10 days...i never understood why...So wanted to try once again..waited for almost 8 months to buy the next green bubble tip anemone...but again the same story..

Can some one help me understand how to maintain a anemone and how to feed it if it has to be done separately ?

Cheers
Sashi

Re: Anemone help

Hi Sashi,

It's difficult to say exactly why your anemone died. Did you take care to acclimate it properly before placing it in the aquarium? What are your water parameters?

Read this article on the husbandry requirements of bubble tip anemones (Entacmaea quadricolor).

Re: Anemone help

Hi Ninong,
Thanks for the message. I ensured that both times, I drip my aquarium's water slowly for almost 40 mins before releasing it into the tank. I usually test Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia & Specific gravity only. Everytime I have 0 Ammonia but Nitrate and Nitrite are present. I will post my water parameters tomorrow.
Honestly I never knew that I have to feed the anemone !!
