Live Rock Question

Everyone,

I have purchased live rock from a fellow on this site and he shipped it on Wed. 40lbs. in a bucket with water in it. It will not make it to me until Monday, Should i cure it at that point? How long? I believe it was in his tank for a while. Or should i just look at it and take off anything that is obviously dead and put it in the tank? Would it be cured enough to do that?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Live Rock Question

It's a good idea to atleast quarantine it and make sure you aren't getting any nasties with it. You will have some die off. Is this rock going into an already established tank or a new setup?

Re: Live Rock Question

I'd quarantine for a few weeks then.

Re: Live Rock Question

I would recure it just to make sure. You can use a Rubbermaid tub and a powerhead or two for circulation. No need to risk it.
