I'm finally ordering my tank tomorrow morning and the LFS guy says most of his tanks are drilled at 2" and the durso site sells his pre-made pipes at 3/4", 1", 1-1/4" and 1-1/2". I was thinking 1-1/2" would be enough, am I making a mistake or should I take a 2" hole or does it even make any difference?
I have a mag 7 pump for the return. The new tank will be a 90 gallon.

Re: emergency question
A 2" hole uses less then 2" PVC. So yes I would think a 2" hole would be fine, and would match up well with your return pump. You want your drain to be able to handle MORE then your return pump can put into the tank, it makes it so much easier to set up.

Re: emergency question
I'm not sure what size bulkhead the 2" hole accepts, but the durso pipe should be one size larger than that bulkhead, so a 1.5" durso would be for a 1.25" bulkhead...I beleive.
