    Anemone Problem

Help, my Bubble Tip Anemone got stuck in the filter last night, and this morning when i came down it was in a lot of trouble. I had to switch off the filter and pull it off. I was trying to be delicate as possible but in the end had to rip it off so it wouldn't be attached. I am feeling awful because now it is all shrivelled up and i am not sure if it is still alive. Did i do the right thing because this is my first attempt at having one and my clowns loved it and it looked so beautiful. Please help..

If the flesh has been ripped then there is very little chance of it surviving im afraid, in the wild they can repair them self’s but in captivity it rarely happens.

    sorry, james

Is there anyway to prevent it from getting stuck in the filter again?

you could put some tights material around the filter intake so it cant get sucked in but this requires regula cleaning to prevent blockage. others may have better ideas, i would make a new thread about it if i were you

    cheers james

    Re: Anemone Problem

Cover all your pump intakes with sponges. Make sure the intakes are totally covered. It's amazing how small of an area an RBTA can get stuck in. I've had an RBTA get stuck 3 times!!! Each time, I put it in the fuge and it healed up just fine. I have one in my 46 that never moves. The one that got stuck was originally in m 29 and never moved. When I put it in a 75, it never seemed to find a "happy spot" and got sucked up 3 times. I eventually gave it to a fellow reefer and it's doing great!! Believe it or not, it was really tore up after the 1st and 3rd time!!
