    so rich and chocolatey!
I was wondering that myself because until I have the new setup, I'm constantly spilling a bit of my gunk into the sump because I have to tilt the cup to get it out and sometimes I loose a bit sometimes more...

Ok you guys! You haven't answered the actual question, how bad is it getting that ROOT BEER in the tank? Don't make come over there and slap you!

You see how fast you get an answer when threatened with a slap!

Good to know cuz I'm almost always spilling a bit. It's so tight in the sump right now, the skimmer cup is only 4" from the bottom of the tank so I have to go up, tilt almost 90 gegrees then straighten up quickly to avoid spilling, it's crazy!

IS there any way of doing that with a Remora Pro? I do have a little hole on one corner of my cup cover...

Re: What happens when you forget to clean your skimmer cup!!

    weez,
On your new tank, how are you going to have things set up? Is your skimmer going to be external? Is there a way to figure out a drain tube to do like Mike does? I also drain mine into a 2 gallon waste container. I don't know if there is a pic in my gallery or not. I will go ahead a take one after I get back from my appt. this morning to show you what I am talikng about.

Wozza, I think you may have started a fairly good thread here without even thinking about it!!!
Skimmate threads are always a good time, whether someone threatens you or not!!!!

I don't want to be around when you start the suction on that.

Re: What happens when you forget to clean your skimmer cup!!

New set up will be external also but with tons more room. The closet it's going in is 23"X62" so I'll have room for more stuff and nothing will be in the way over the sump which will be so much easier!
1-2 weeks left to wait, it's driving me nuts cuz I'm at a stand still, I can't think of anything else to buy while I'm waiting

No, I have never seen anybody use a drain tube with a remora before, I was just thinking if you stuck some air hose in that little hole, you would have to start a suction to drain the thing!!! That could be nasty. Sorry if I confused you. My bad.

Re: What happens when you forget to clean your skimmer cup!!

The Urchin and Remora skimmers are now sold with an optional drain fitting for the collection cup, however I cannot find where it can be purchased for an existing skimmer. Go to Welcome to proteinskimmer.com! The official web site for AquaC marine aquarium products... and contact Jason at AquaC and see if a new collection cup can be ordered with the drain fitting.
