Talking The "let's see what you got" thread.

Well, here we are celebrating Memorial Day, inside the house, watching it rain at a fairly good pace. The Braves beat the Brewers, Twins beat the White Sox, and the Stanley Cup Finals start in 3 hours. Sound like I am a little bored????? Gee, let's take some pics of the tanks, and hopefully start a trend!!! Why don't we all post up a few pics of our tanks??????? And away we go.
Here is my 80 gallon:

This is the 300 fish only and a few of it's inhabitants:

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

Thanks Charlie,
You've got some pretty nice tanks too!
You may have noticed the big cloud of air bubbles that the aquaclear is pumping out, that's because the crappy little aqua lifter pump that came with the overflow box decided to die a couple of weeks early!:slap: so I'm using the aquaclear but it's blowing out a cloud every 30 seconds!

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

I always keep a couple of spare aqualifters around just for that. Have you tried cleaning it out? I clean mine about once a month with vinegar and HOT water.

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

Yup, I clean it at least once a month also but this time it just kept going on and off. Either way, I'm not going out to buy a new one now cuz I won't need it once I start the new one and the aquaclear is doing the job so the fishies will just have to live with some bubbles for a while

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

Like I said, I can't wait to see the new production weez. We have been talking about it for a while. I bet you are pretty excited too!!

Now let's see if we can't get Gene or Mike to put up some stuff about their tanks. For that matter, where the heck is everybody else too?

Scott, I really, really like your live rock.

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

People must think it's summer time or something Charlie.

I really like the Bali Alor rock that we got too. Really decent stuff, and I've had a lot of different rock in my days.

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

What I really like about the newer rock that we are seeing is that the pieces are large, yet alot lighter than say, the old premium figi we used to get. South Pacific rock is the best, FWIW. Did you see the rock that weez got????

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

No I saw the thread but didn't recognize the "name" of the rock and stopped there. But I think your right, the South Pacific rock is the best I have seen. The Marshall Island rocks looks really good too.

I thought it was a pretty weird name too but it turns out it's from one of the Fiji islands

And you didn't invite us

See if you get an invite to my birthday party.

Weez, I really liked the look of your rock also, as stated before!!! If it came from Figi, Walt Smith had a hand in it I bet.

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

I would have invited you guys but I figured he (the lobster ) would have smelled kinda skanky by the time you got here so I guess I'll eat my 2.5 pound lobster all by myself
I'll have to look up that Walt guy, I haven't been around long enough to know who he is

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

Here are some pictures of some recent additions. I apologize for the lack of focus, but the camera has no manual focus capability.

A psuedanthias ignitus, maybe?
.

My p. squamippinis. Occasionally chases the ignitus to remind him/her who is boss, but no harm comes of it.

My A. pyroferus (mimic tang). Not a recent addition, but I've been lazy about taking pictures.

A blue thang I found at the LFS.

And finally, a lavender acro that has been in the tank for months and has actually held its color nicely. You may be able to spot some of the cottony red algae that is the bane of my existence right now. It is fairly easy to remove, but it comes back quick.

Sorry, but I don't have a recent full-tank shot.

Re: The "let's see what you got" thread.

Those work just fine Doug!!

Try to get ahold of Kevinpo, and have him take a look at that red algae. I had some of that once, and I think there is type of turbo snail that eats that stuff. At least it ate mine!!!

Thanx for your pics!!
