CSI: my fishtank
a large (3 in), healthy cleaner shrimp died after feasting on a dead turbo snail.
my guess is that the shrimp has been eating clean, processed food for a year and all of sudden had all this bacteria from the dead snail in his body and died from it. what do you think? |

Not sure, but one would figure he would have just gotten the diarrhea from it.
I've seen my shrimp demolish a dead snail with no ill effects. Sure, they eat prepared food, but they are also constantly going around cleaning out the rock crevices for anything decomposing to eat. |

Re: CSI: my fishtank
Could the snail have died from eating something that isn't friendly to inverts and the shrimp suffered the same? I've got no idea what that would be, and the death could just be coincidence or something related to water quality.
