    used sand

I was thinking of putting sand in my sump. My daughter's sand has been sitting in a 5 gallon pail since she dismantled her tank and I was thinking of using that, is it still ok to use if it's well washed? Also, it's not as fine as aragamax, does this matter in the sump? It's seems to be between aragamax and seaflor in size.

Sure, it will work fine as long as you rinse it well.

Mark, is it just me or your links don't work?

The main link in my sig or the links once you get to my main page? They are working on this end.

The link in your sig. The only way I can see some of your site is if I right click your sig, copy the web address, paste it in the addess bar, remove the http:// press enter, which brings me to a google searched result and click on cached. That brings me to the text but no pics except for a few links to the sump where it says HERE and HERE.
I don't get why this is happening, it's the only site I've seen this happen. Hmmm.

Hmmmm...strange, what browser do you use and is it updated to the latest one?

I'll look into it from my end. I use The newest Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 to build my pages and save them to .htm format.

Anyone else having this problem with my link?

EDIT: I just removed the "http://" from the link and now it starts with just the "www" so maybe that will help.

Nope. It doesn't work for me either. Is that domain on the public internet and is it publishing it at this time? Google's cache option is just a snapshot of the site when it was last accessible. The pics are not showing because the links are broken. If you have control of the domain, I'd check the server to make sure the www service is running.

Sorry to throw your thread a little off topic but as long as the sand is still pure meaning no outside contaminants, you should still be able to use it. When I moved and temporarily went to a 40G, I took sand from my 90G and it worked fine.
