    whats your best reef store

The best thing I have ever seen was when my lfs owner saved of $3000.00 fish
The owner sold a Conspicillatus angel and it was huge about 13 inches. One of the coolest fish I have ever seen. The owner knew the person who he sold the fish to well and knew the tank he was going into. The person who bought the angel took care of his fish very very well he had kept many other large angels before so he knew how to take care of them. Well about 1 weak later I saw the fish back in the lfs covered with ick and popeye and stopped eating. I have been told that when they stop eating you are I big trouble. Well the owner of the lfs was doing everything he could to help the fish. He had about 3 different type of medications in the tank. It got so bad that after a week of not eating the owner started to force-feed the fish. Well about 3 week later the ick was gone, but not eating. Next week the popyey was gone, but still not eating. About an another week the fish started to eat. The owner of the fish redid the whole tank. And after the fish was 100% back and fat again. Well the fish has been in the owners new tank and has been doing great

Cool Re: whats your best reef store

I'm in Georgetown, TX, and one of my favorites is Gallery of Pets, they mostly sell fish and birds. First time I was there, I saw a coral that looked like a smooth nuclear cloud, and asked what it was and how to take care of it. The saltwater guy said he thought it was easy to keep, but he had never kept it and didn't know for sure. In the freshwater area, I noticed that a serpae tetra had jumped into a tank full of chinese algae eaters (read bullies) and been severely beaten on. I told an employee, and he went to take care of it. Also, when I said I thought the CAE had done it, he agreed. Second time, I went to get LR rubble and macroalgae, but they didn't have macroalgae, so the guy gave me some from the REFUGIUM!! They keep their bettas in 1 g tanks instead of cups, and one betta tank had a sign saying "the betta is not sick, he is just old and has a back problem." Nice of them to keep the little guy instead of flushing him! I also noticed a mandarin was in a tank with a HUGE green brittle star (MAJOR fish eater), and asked if it belonged there. He said, "mandarin? I TOLD them never to stock a mandarin! Those fish always starve." He put the mandarin in the coral tank with about 500 pounds of LR. I saw NO sick or dead fish, even in the well-kept feeder tanks, and all tanks have at least one decoration, more with timid fish. All prices are great (8" Kenya tree for $35!!), staff is great, livestock is great, selection is great (I counted no less than 15 unusual or rare fish, GO HERE!!!! WORTH THE DRIVE!!!!
