Unhappy hi need some help!

I've never been on here befor but I need some help my anenome got sucked into our filter. I have him in a small quarentine tank I have been putting iodine in the water and a teA tree treatment, it seems to be helping some. what else should I do ?should I put him back in th main tank or is he better off where he is? Is there any treatment or anything I can do to help him recover?

Re: hi need some help!

It should recover fine on it's own, though that depends on the amount of damage done. If it is opening back up then that is a good sign.

You need to cover all intake with foam or it will most likely happen again. You will then have another chore of cleaning the foam filter periodically now.

They are notorious for moving around until they find a spot they like. Seems that intakes are magnets for them.

Also, WELCOME to the board.

I would stop adding things too the water. As long as the water parameters are good, and there isn't too much damage, the anemone can recover completely. Do you have adequate lighting on your QT tank for a BTA? I would not have moved him, but since you already did, moving again will cause more stress. If your QT tank is adequate, I would leave it until it recovers.

Unhappy Re: hi need some help!

Thank you for responding. Sadly our anenome died early this morning. As far as the lighting, we just set up our qurentine tank, and have not gone out and gotten better lighting for it yet, what would you suggest as far as that goes?

Re: hi need some help!

Sorry to hear about your anemone!

As far as your lighting for a QT, PC lighting would work for most things. How big is the QT tank? What are you planning on keeping?
