mastaj,
if they are in the business of cutting or drilling glass and know that your tank is not tempered where it will be drilled, then yes it is reasonable to ask. But if the tank is tempered and you know it, and they have told you that it may shatter, and you still go ahead with it, then nope, its on you. Hopefully all goes well. Duncan.

maybe more reasonable to ask them how many tanks they have drilled, and how many or those they broke?

Sure its reasonable....but for anyone who is experienced at drilling tanks they will more than likely tell you to take a hike if you want a guarantee.....I mean think about it....they are charging you 25-45bux to drill a $200 plus tank...... About the only way I would think that they would guarantee is if they knew for a fact that the glass was not tempered. I agree to the above post....ask how many they have drilled and how many they have broke
those special bits only last so many drills too.....ask them how many drills the bit has on it (a good glass shop will know)....If i remember right after 200 drills (dont quote me on this :P ) they start getting dull

Now I'm thinking of just going back to getting an overflow box.
