I picked up one of these a couple of days ago , how long should i expect it to be shy? he hides when i come near the tank.;;

i also just got one a little difrent a black cap and i was told that it will take about 1-2 weeks befour their out and in the open and even then their always darting in and out of the rocks all day

They will almost always hide, then scoot around. They are not the type of fish that sit in the water column.

Great fish though.

Give them a week or so and then he will begin ot come out more. Mine always run back to the same hole in the LR when they get scared. They are great fish.
