No worry's.... thanks for replying, i'll do a bit of buffering over the next few days and bring it up a bit.
Yeah take it slow. One thing you could do is to mix up a few water changes and slowly adjust the alkalinity through the wcs while exchanging dirty for clean. This should also help your diatom problem.
