As You Have Proberbly Read From My Other Post I Have Been Having A Really Bad Time With Diatoms... All My Water Parameters Are Reasonalbly But Was Told To Raise My Dkh From Eight To About Twelve. Now This Seemed High To Me.... Can Any One Advise... Also Any One Got Tips On How To Rid This Eval, Relentless Plage That Is Destroying Every Thing Including Me....

10-12 dkH is the range you want to aim for. As for the diatoms if you search around here for threads dealing with them or algae problems you should find lots of info on how to handle it. I'm sorry for being so brief but I have to do some Calculus.

No worry's.... thanks for replying, i'll do a bit of buffering over the next few days and bring it up a bit.

Yeah take it slow. One thing you could do is to mix up a few water changes and slowly adjust the alkalinity through the wcs while exchanging dirty for clean. This should also help your diatom problem.
