Palythoa cross sections

I've produced my first series of cross sections of the Palythoa sp. polyps that I sacrificed.
This first set is stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin Stain and was sectioned at 8 �m

Im trying to figure out what I'm looking at and have some ideas due to the way the polyp sections were arranged on the slides. A Dr. at Michigan State has offered assistance but can't get to it until mid October. Maybe some of you have ideas. What I'm really looking for is sperm but haven't found anything resembling sperm from the 3 polyps I have sacrificed. Polyps were taken from the outer edge of the colony and the center.

This second set was also sectioned at 8 �m but was stained with Pollak's Stain.
I'm fairly certain that I'm looking at discharged nematocysts in these slides.

I'm really starting to appreciate it also but it's hard at this school. I have the opportunity to study what I want unfortunately I have no mentor on the specific subject material.
