OMG! PETcetera stinks!

About 2 weeks ago a PETcetera opened up near by, so today I decided to check it out for sh"ts and giggles.....
I was completely freaked out with the tanks they have for their fish! I am NOT kidding, each tank was 8" X 8" x 8" !!! They looked no bigger than tupperware containers!
Most had 3-4 fish but the one that shocked me the most was the one with about 10-12, 2" fantail goldfish!! They had absolutely no room to move around and I was wondering why they at least didn't put 1/2 of them in the empty "tupperware" next to it????? What in hell is that all about???
Is this how the PETcetera's are in the US?
They even had the nerve to have a marine fish section, same size tanks but they had no fish in them, I think they were having a cyano problem but they had name tags above the tank likeTomato Clown, Regal Tang, Yellow Tang etc!!
Can't the SPCA do something about that, it's completely nuts?

I am not familiar with that particular chain, but this is common for most larger retail chains that I have been to.

I haven't seen one around here either but it doesn't mean they are not here. I just haven't come across this particular store as yet, most likely.
I agree with Scott that most of those huge chains should not be allowed to handle fish stock of any kind. Let them stick to cats and dogs... they do OK job with that.

I think I should crab to the head office, I still cant beleive what I saw. It really wasn't bigger than a large shipping bag and these poor fish have to stay until someone feels sorry for them and buys them.
Next time I go I'll try to sneak in a camera and take a pic...
