Exclamation Button Polyp Maintenance & Feeding

Hello all,
I have a button polyp looking similar to the one in the picture (picture was taken from the internet). Its been more than 2 months since I purchased this. Now, I could see the polyps fading out and falling down one by one. I am worried. I would like to know if I have to feed this polyp separately. If so, with what ? I usually drop small pieces of frozen planktons into the tank twice a week. Will this do ? Please advice me on how to care for this coral.

Cheers / Sashi

Re: Button Polyp Maintenance & Feeding

You really never have to feed zoas directly. I do sometimes when I turkey baste everything else but it is not required for them to survive.

Maybe it has something to do with your parameters, or the acclimation method you used.

Give some more info like amount of lighting, system setup basically. What are your water parameters like.

Though I have had zoas thrive and multiply like mad only to lose another batch that is among all the others. I have seen them melt away and could not figure out why.

What type of lighting do you have? I've found that some need pretty bright illumination to survive.
