Re: Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300
I'll get this going again with some before pics of my existing equipment and what it looks like right now. There's about 11 pics, so bear with me.
We plan to start the first weekend in January, so there is plenty of time to let these soak in.Main return and closed loop pump. Existing return, which will be capped off. The next 2 pics are of the existing closed loop- 4 seaswirls. Skimmer pump, Iwaki 100, and the plumbing to my refugium. Main skimmer return to sump, refuge plumbing and part of the 1" closed loop plumbing. Back of the 300, and seaswirl manifold. Skimmer and plumbing to fuge. Where the sump is now. NO ACCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300
Next up are my drawings for the 1" closed loop, the sump diagram, and the new main return that will come up the back and over the top of the tank, drilled with siphon holes to prevent the BIG FLOOD.
If these don't come out well, visit my gallery and you can get a better idea.![]() ![]() ![]() |

These are preliminary, and of course are subject to change, but not to much.
There will be more pics to follow when we get to going on the 5th of January. Plenty of time to pick what's left of my brain. ![]() ![]() |

Re: Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300
Rocky, that is the main return. It is just a 1.5" return over the center brace. HTH.
It also had the sea swirls on it for my reference. The swirls are on there own closed loop. |

Re: Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300
I see now....looked at the pics closer, so your keeping the existing closed loop just like it is right?

Re: Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300
Yeah, the creep is there, but it is gonna go away. I haven't been as diligent as I should be.
I could be saving it for when the salinity gets low???????? The way I had to shrink those drawings was really the best way to do that, I can see where you got confused. |

Charlie,
It's looking great! You will love the Sequence Barracuda it is a monster and could blow a truck off its tires.

Re: Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300
Huh, didn't get an e-mail notification of your post Scott. you think you are excited. I even cleaned up my seaswirls yesterday!!!! I want to get this going real bad, but I know I can't get it done all by my lonesome, so I gotta wait. I have 4 days off this weekend, but I think I am pretty booked. I may start building the main return tho, I can get some stuff prebuilt to make things go a bit quicker, but every time I want to go fast, I go backwards.
