54 gal FOWLR, 60lbs rock, 3 inch substrate, 10 gal w/d, protein skimmer, 1 sailfin tang, 2 clowns, 2 yellow tail damsels and LOVING IT!
They are Zooanthids.... If you have some VHO's or PC or T-5 bulbs over your tank they will be a fine addition.

Hi Gator
Nice pieces too....mind me asking what they are asking for them and what LFS it is? They appear to be local corals too

Well why do you call it a FOWLR but have coral. FOWLR tanks usaully have fish that are not reef safe.
These are at a local store in Lake Mary, FL. They are asking $5 a piece and have probably 50 variations. Sorry for the confusion with the tag. The fowlr is my primary but I am starting a small 12gal that will be reef.

I love zooanthids, they are quickly becoming one of my favorite corals to collect. They are very easy to take care of, and will spread given the right conditions. $5 for a small piece like that is average. My lfs sells them for $10-$15 for a piece about that size. That would be a great choice for a small 12 gallon nano reef. I'd say pick up a couple different types, you won't be sorry.

Okay so I've jumped in a started a 12gal reef. I've added a number of these zooanthids but have a question. They come attached to a little base. Do I simply leave them attached to that and place them on the rock or do I take them off and place them? If I take them off how do I do it?
Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, you leave them attached to the little base they came on and then you either wedge that into position in the rock structure or, if you want, you can glue the underneath part of the little base to the rocks with putty or crazy glue gel -- the kind they sell for mounting frags.

If you plan on fragging to your rock do some reading. Zoo's and Paly's can cary palytoxin which is deadly ( although I have been reading lately that they are now linking it to the dinoflagellate that the polyps host ).
And watch out for the addiction too...I have lost a few friends to thier endless needs to find the "next hot rare" zoo hehehe.
