What is your Fav coral, and Why?

My favorite coral would have to be zoanthids, and there are many reasons why....Cuz they are fairly cheap, easy to keep and culture, many different colors, and fun to trade cuz everyone else usually likes them Now if I had to post a pic of my most favorite one that would be hard but I would have to say these

That would be my Fox Coral. They don't bother anybody, they just look "soft", and they are beautiful.

The plate corals would have to be my favorites but this Platygyra sp. always draws my attention. It's been with me for a long time through thick and thin. I guess you could say we've bonded.

I get emotionally attached but I have yet to name a fish or a coral. I was ooh and aahing just this morning looking at old pictures of frags I got a few years ago and comparing them with the colonies today. You don't realize how much they have grown until doing that. I felt like a proud father.

I'd have to agree with Rocky on this one that Zoo's are probably my favorite coral in general. I love the how many varieties there are, they are so unique and fun to collect. The coloration of some zoo's are simply unmatched. However, I'd have to say my Euphyllia is my favorite coral that I have specifically in my tank.

The Euphyllia I have is my favorite because I bought it as a very small frag that looked like it wasn't going to make it and my LFS practically gave it to me. Now about 6 years later, this thing is HUGE and super healthy. I'm amazed at how much it has branched off and grown. I just wish I had taken pictures back then of when I first got it. I also love that it is home to my 2 clowns, it's always entertaining to watch them playing around in it.

It's not the greatest picture by any means but...

I love the staghorn acropora's. I really like the growth form of them and the coloration on the tips is often a nice blue.

I love zoas. They are clearly my favorite too. I've counted approximately 10 to 12 different colours I have in my one 55 gallon tank alone and I'm still trying to get more. I love trading with others and culturing my own and it's fun to do exactly that.

I don't have one in my tank...yet, so I can't post a pic unless I still shamelessly, but I love monti caps. Especially when they are hanging off the sides of rocks forming shelves.

Not my favorite but very nice corals. I have to be honest, I do not have a favorite coral as a specific species of some kind. I do agree with Rocky that ease of care for Zoanthids, and multitude of gorgeous colors makes them very attractive and popular int he hobby. But on the other hand.., I had pretty good success with acros, so I could say that they are my favorite. But they aren't. I'm probably getting old and tired of all of it.

Beautiful!! I hope to have some in my next tank. I like the green ones, but I guess orange is still a little more pleasing to my eye. Maybe that is because I think the green would blend in with my algae!
